Passing through the village of Carloway, on the West side of Lewis, our visitors can call in to Parkhouse and meet the weaver, while enjoying the sight and sound of Harris Tweed being woven in the traditional manner. It is also an opportunity to acquire some of this iconic fabric from a wide selection always available to visitors and most importantly stamped with the Orb trademark which guarantees genuine 100% wool. For those of you that are unable to make it to the Island, Carloway Harris Tweed is now available to purchase online. We have a selection of fabrics and handmade scarves available and all are supplied with the iconic label. If you should require an alternative design/colour for a particular product, Norman will always be happy to discuss and organise individual orders, visit our Contact Us section to enquire.
Crofter Norman MacKenzie is one of the last Lewis weavers still using the historic Hattersley single width loom to produce this world famous, iconic cloth by hand.
